Huntington Woods, a neighborhood in Charleston, SC is the essence of an established neighborhood.    It's the kind of place that people don't move away from...they live here forever.  Developed in the early 1960's, many of the original home owners still live in the neighborhood. Just in recent times are homes being offered for sale. The founding character of the neighborhood has been preserved throughout the years.  The welcoming entrance into the neighborhood is the only amenity.  Live in Huntington Woods with no HOA fee.

Homes in Huntington Woods are brick, one story, two story and split-level .  Wood floors are found in most homes.  No two homes are alike in Huntington Woods.  Some homes have been completely renovated, while other homes have been partially renovated, or not renovated at all.  The neighborhood is filled with mature landscaping which was originally planted in the 1960's such as azeleas, and camellias.  Live Oak trees with draping moss are also  abundant throughout the neighborhood, creating shady streets.  The residents walk, and they walk their dogs.  Part of the  neighborhood borders the marshes of the historic Ashley River.   Several award winning schools are in the area, including Orange Grove Elementary Charter School, Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary and Trinity Montessori School.  Must apply for acceptance.

I also like the new homes in Mount Pleasant by D.R. Horton, I couldn't believe all the amenities they have, pools, parks, trails, tot lots, fitness centers, clubhouses just to name a few. Not the same for sure but worth checking into!
